Audi has been a member of the ASI since 2013 and is currently helping to advance ASI certifications, develop new standards, and improve existing ones. In 2017, the brand launched the Aluminum Closed Loop to ensure high-grade aluminum production offcuts are fed back into the material loop. Alois Winkler, project manager in Procurement Strategy, says, “The Aluminum Closed Loop allows us to retain valuable raw material in the loop, with more sustainable production guaranteed along the value chain based on the ASI Chain of Custody standard.”
Sustainability is a challenge that has to be solved worldwide, in every industry, product, and facet of life. The Greentech Festival and Green Awards, founded by Audi and Nico Rosberg, former Formula One world champion, celebrate and award disruptive ideas and innovations designed to fight climate change.
