How it works:

When so equipped, Park Assist Plus can help locate parking spaces either perpendicular or parallel. Once a space is found, the system can steer, accelerate and brake automatically to park the vehicle.

Instructions :

Parking with Park Assist Plus

  • To engage, press the Park Assist button. Drive path guidelines will appear in the MMI.
  • Drive slowly within approx.. 3ft from the row of parking spaces. Park Assist will look for parking spaces on the passenger side by default. To look on the driver side, activate the left turn signal.
  • When the system finds a suitable space, either perpendicular or parallel, it will appear in the display. If the parking space allows different parking options, press one of the suggested parking options.
  • When the vehicle is in the correct position, the letter “P” will appear over the selected parking space.
  • Stop the vehicle.
  • The instructions for automatic parking will appear in the display.
  • Let go of the steering wheel. You may need to press and hold the Park Assist button, release the brake.
  • The system steers, accelerates and brakes automatically.
  • If necessary, release the Park Assist Plus button to pause the procedure. Press and hold again to resume.
  • When the vehicles has been parked successfully, “Park” will be engaged and the parking brake will be set.
  • Turn off the ignition.

Exiting a space with Park Assist Plus

  • Start the engine.
  • When traffic allows, press the Park Assist button.
  • Wait until a message appears on the upper display that requests you to select the direction to travel in when exiting the parking space.
  • Activate the turn signal on the desired side or press that side next to the vehicle in the upper display.
  • Remove your hands from the steering wheel. Once exited from the parking space, take over the steering function and drive away.
  • Park Assist plus turns off automatically once the vehicle reaches approximately 18 mph.

Limitations:

  • The driver is always responsible when entering or exiting a parking space and during similar maneuvers. Always monitor the traffic and the vehicle’s surroundings directly and do not become distracted.
  • Only functions at speeds up to speeds of 18 mph.
  • The prompt will not appear if the space is too small.
  • The Electronic Stabilization Control must not be switched off during the parking process. If the ESC intervenes, the parking process will be canceled.
  • Do not use this function if the vehicle cannot move freely.
  • Only some models include Automatic Emergency Braking.
  • Some vehicles only brake when driving in reverse; others brake when driving in both front and reverse directions. See your Owner’s Manual to determine if braking is included in Park Assist and to understand limitations.

-The following situations may cause unexpected braking to occur:

  • Steep driveways or ramps
  • Driving at low speeds over drainage ditches
  • Lowered ride height, which can be caused by frequent heavy cargo loads
  • Damage to the sensors caused by collision/accident
  • Dirt, water, ice or snow on or near the sensors
  • Foreign bodies or adhesive vinyl on or near the sensors
  • Parking aid systems in other vehicles nearby
  • Installation of non-Audi Genuine Accessories such as trailer hitches, spoilers, bumpers and anti-rodent devices
  • Noise disturbance or other active ultrasound sources in the vicinity

-The following situations may cause unexpected warnings to occur:

  • Steep slopes or driveways
  • Plants/shrubs of certain height
  • Nearby curbs
  • Gravel, cobblestones, potholes

Features may vary between models. Please review your owner’s manual for more information.
