How it works:
- The emergency assist is automatically available when the Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Guidance (if equipped) is activated, regardless of the vehicle speed.
- When Adaptive Cruise Assist Lane Centring is not active, the system will only be active at speeds greater than 40 mph.
- Measures may be initiated in stages. The vehicle can intervene within the limits of the system. The measures depend on the dangerous situation and the vehicle equipment:
- Visual and audio warnings
- Vehicle control
- Reduction of vehicle speed in stages
- Activates the brakes (this function is not available on all vehicle equipment levels)
- The emergency flashers are activated
- The brakes are applied until the vehicle is stationary
- As soon as the vehicle stops, the parking brake is set.
- Control can be regained at any time by moving the steering wheel, pressing the brake pedal or pressing the accelerator pedal.
Instructions:

Limitations:

- Unclear lane markings
- Driving on a narrow curve
