The Audi MMI® (Multi Media Interface) system was created to streamline the controls for audio, vehicle settings, and available navigation under a common interface, thereby reducing the number of buttons for a cleaner interior appearance. Though specific features vary between models, the MMI® system in every Audi consists of a central dial, four soft keys, and dedicated buttons for each general function.
The available MMI 3G has a contact capacity of 5,000 contacts over four phone profiles. Each individual profile can load/import 2,000 entries including the ability to import 100 contacts with full addresses and multiple phone information.
(Therefore, if two different phone profiles contain 2,000 contacts, the remaining two phone profiles can house a maximum of 1,000 contacts combined to reach the maximum of 5,000 contacts.)
If equipped an SD Card slot, Model Year 2009 and earlier vehicles can utilize an SD Card with a maximum capacity of 256MB. Model Year 2010 to present vehicles with a SD Card slot can utilize High Capacity SD Cards.
Store bought CDs cannot be imported into the jukebox of the MMI® system.
The MMI system is not configured to provide this functionality. However, there is an optional DVD player for selected vehicles as the AMI cable is for Audi only.
