Audi’s longstanding history with the game of golf continued in September at the stunning oceanfront resort, The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, located 30 miles south of San Francisco. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay Golf Links proved to be a challenging course for the 120 Audi owners, dealers and guests who participated in the event. Also in attendance was "Desperate Housewives" star, Kyle MacLachlan, who golfed alongside the United States Final competitors.
During the tournament, all golfers competed for a special set of prizes, including a hole-in-one contest to win a one-year lease of the 2010 Audi S4 (unfortunately, no one hit the winning shot).
Immediately following the tournament, the golfers recounted the day over lunch in Mullins Grill located in the clubhouse. Following lunch, the golfers were treated to an exciting performance by trick-shot golfer, Vince Howell. Later that evening, the tournament winners were announced at a gala awards dinner held in The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom.

In spring and summer of 2009, Audi dealers hosted 44 local tournaments throughout the United States with nearly 4,000 participants countrywide. Golfers at the local tournaments are mostly current Audi owners and are invited by their dealer to participate. Each tournament is eligible to send the top team from their local tournament to the United States Final.
The Audi quattro Cup golf tournament series was established in 1991 and has grown to be the largest amateur golf series in the world with nearly 78,000 amateur golfers participating worldwide.
