Audi and Oakley present the Learn to Ride Event at Infineon Raceway.

On Thursday, May 20th, 2010 Oakley brought its “Learn to Ride” program to Infineon Raceway in Sonoma and teamed up with Audi and the Audi sportscar experience to give celebrities an opportunity to drive the Audi R8 on a real race track with Oakley professional drivers Pat Long and Kelly Collins. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, Parenthood stars Dax Shepherd and Mae Whitman, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Shaun Sipos (Melrose Place), Cisco Adler and others all came up to “Learn to Ride” with Oakley and the Audi sportscar experience.

On the 19th, guests were greeted at the Bardessono hotel with a rooftop pool reception where everyone gathered to talk about who was going to have the fastest lap time. Come race day, all of the stars were a bit humbled by the speed of the R8 and the difficulty of Infineon Raceway. When the day was finished, everyone had improved their driving skills and was on their way to becoming future professionals. Dax Shepherd commented to the on-board cameraman, “you are sweating bullets,” followed by a laugh as he ripped around the track. After a full day of racing, the group hung out in the lounge with tunes by Oakley artists James Kinney, Kelley James and Cisco Adler.
