From August 1982, the revolutionary Audi 100 in streamline form was built. With a drag coefficient of just cw=0.3, it was the most streamlined series production vehicle of its time, gaining the coveted "Golden Steering Wheel" and the "Car of the Year" awards.
An Audi 100 Avant quattro was used as the basis for Audi's first hybrid drive – the Audi Duo. The front wheels were driven by a 136 hp, 5-cylinder injection engine, while a DC electric motor provided environmentally compatible power to the rear axle.
