Certain light sources in the interior can increase
active safety when driving at night, as they help the eyes adjust more quickly when switching from the road to the interior. Audi's interior lighting packages feature permanent vertical illumination of controls, the center console, and the door trim panels, which make visible the contrasts that are important for operating reliability and orientation in these areas. Thanks to the positioning and choice of light sources, there is no risk of the driver being distracted. Moreover, the driver can configure brightness and lighting profiles by means of the "ambient lighting" which can be adjusted via the
MMI. The interior lighting package includes distinct LED footwell lighting (Q7, A6), LED lighting under door trim (A6, A8), illumination of door pockets and door handles. Swivelling reading lights are located in the rear roof module.
